For this is how they do it in Spain..
Life is full of surprises dear reader. And sometimes, sometimes, it gives you the chance to throw yourself at this or that opportunity, a once in a lifetime opportunity, where you get to see a dimension you don't very often get to witness or experience.
This is what happened with my dear Pisces friend. Quite versed in the art of "networking", he would hate me saying this, but this is the fact of the matter.
What was supposed to be a regular dining out experience in a tiny, cozy restaurant in Zamalek turned out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
My friend was invited to a dinner party at the home of the Spanish Cultural Attache in Cairo. It was a "little celebration" for one of the most famous Flamenco dance companies in Spain, which is performing at the Cairo Opera House this week.
The house of the Attache was an exquisite abode where art pieces are meshed together into one huge piece of art, to the extent of not knowing whether the space itself is a piece of art, or the objects placed on display.
The dance company wanting to repay the Attache for his kindness and hospitality, performed live for a small, select and very chic audience.
I was very fortunate to be among those very select, although not so chic, because I was in shorts and had my leg in cast.. !
Raw, intense and mind blowing.. This is what comes to mind when the music started and the dancers started performing..
Crescendo of rhythms going faster and higher, with bodies writhing with power and beauty and hoarse, Spanish words being agonizingly crooned for a frenzied crowd..
It was better than sex I tell you! At least for the person writing these lines.
Being in the same physical proximity as these dancers it was one of the most intense experience I ever had.
Gorgeous women stamping their feet, swaying their heads with such fervor, turning their wastes from side to side in a such a controlled fashion, along with the insanely, passionate music.
The crowed screamed, cheered and after much intoxication joined in.
I did.
With my crutch and all. I told myself I will be sorry in the morning, but its not everyday you get to dance Flamenco with live music and with one of the most celebrated dance troupes in Spain.
And if that was not gay enough, then hear the rest of it..
After an unhealthy consumption everyone was intoxicated enough to forego the usual propriety and just dance.
And we were not alone in loosening up and letting go of our inhibitions. Apparently some members of the dance troupe, were also letting go of their inhibitions!
And before we know is, I was watching the trashy blond dancing with one the company members, and as she turned, the dancer was grabbing her ass!
Shamelessly and in front of everyone, he kept groping and feeling the trashy blond's ass.
When we were staring at them both, he asked us to join them and started feeling us up, one by one and saying 'you all should dance with us', of course 'dance' being the operative word!
